Musnad Ahmad 1301:30

'Ali ibn 'Asim narrated to us, Suhayl ibn Abi Salih narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Yazid al-Sa'di, who said: Some people of my tribe ordered me to ask Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib about a spearhead that they sharpen and plant in the ground, and in the morning it has killed a hyena. Do you consider it its slaughter? He said: So I sat with Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, and there was with him an old man with a white head and beard from the people of Syria. I asked him about that, and he said to me: "And do you eat the hyena?" I said: "I have never eaten it, but some people of my tribe eat it." He said: "Its consumption is not lawful." The old man said: "O servant of Allah, shall I not tell you a hadith I heard from Abu al-Darda', narrating it from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" I said: "Yes." He said: "I heard Abu al-Darda' saying: 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade every creature that snatches, every plunder, every animal used as a target (mujthama), and every beast of prey with fangs.'" Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib said: "He spoke the truth."
