Musnad Ahmad 544:1

Surayj ibn al-Nu‘man narrated to us, he said: Baqiyyah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad al-Alhani, he said: Abu ‘Anabah—and Surayj said: "He had companionship [with the Prophet]"—narrated to me, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If Allah intends good for a servant, He sweetens him." It was said: "And what is 'sweetens him'?" He said: "Allah opens for him a righteous deed before his death, then He takes his soul upon it."
