Hadith of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (RA)
حديث أبي أيوب الأنصاري
Hadith 1060:20
Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Thabit—meaning Abu Zayd—narrated to us, ‘Asim narrated to us, from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from Aflah, the freed slave of Abu Ayyub, from Abu Ayyub, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stayed with him. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stayed on the lower floor, and Abu Ayyub was on the upper floor. Abu Ayyub awoke one night and said: "We are walking above the head of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)." So he moved, and they spent the night on the side. When morning came, he mentioned that to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The lower floor is more comfortable for me." Abu Ayyub said: "I will not be above a ceiling that you are beneath." One day, he prepared food containing garlic and sent it to him. He asked about the position of the trace of the fingers of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and it was said: "He did not eat." He went up to him and said: "Is it forbidden?" The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "I dislike it." He said: "Then I dislike what you dislike, or what you disliked." And the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to be brought...
