Musnad Ahmad 1060:74

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Taymi narrated to me, from 'Imran ibn Abi Yahya, from 'Abdullah ibn Ka'b ibn Malik, from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Whoever performs ghusl on Friday, and touches some perfume if he has any, and wears his best clothes, then goes out until he comes to the mosque, and prays [rak'ahs] if it seems good to him, and does not harm anyone, then remains silent when his Imam comes out until he prays, it will be an expiation for what is between it and the other Friday." And he said in another place: That 'Abdullah ibn Ka'b ibn Malik al-Sulami narrated to him that Abu Ayyub, the companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, narrated to him that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Whoever performs ghusl on Friday," and he added in it: "then goes out, and upon him is tranquility, until he comes to the mosque."
