Yazid narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ali ibn Zayd, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: "Which of the people is best?"—or he said: "best," Yazid was in doubt—he said: "He whose life is long and whose deeds are good." It was said: "Then which of the people is worst?" He said: "He whose life is long and whose deeds are evil."
