Musnad Ahmad 830:117

Rawh narrated to us, Uthman al-Shahham narrated to us, Muslim ibn Abi Bakrah narrated to us, from his father, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Verily, there will be tribulations, then there will be a tribulation. Behold, the one walking in it is better than the one running toward it. Behold, the one sitting in it is better than the one standing in it. Behold, the one lying down in it is better than the one sitting in it. Behold, when it descends, whoever has sheep, let him join his sheep. Behold, whoever has land, let him join his land. Behold, whoever has camels, let him join his camels." A man from the people said: "O Prophet of Allah, may Allah make me a ransom for you, what do you see for one who has no sheep, nor land, nor camels? What should he do?" He said: "Let him take his sword, then let him head with it to a rock, then let him strike its edge with a stone, then let him escape if he is able to escape. O Allah, have I conveyed? O Allah, have I conveyed?" Then a man said: "O Prophet of Allah, may Allah make me a ransom for you, what do you see if I am taken by the hand, compelled, until I am led to one of the two ranks or one of the two groups (Uthman was uncertain), and a man strikes me with his sword and kills me, what will be my state?" He said: "He shall bear your sin and his own sin, and he will be among the companions of the Fire."
