Musnad Ahmad 830:15

Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, from Muhammad—meaning Ibn Sirin—from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, from Abu Bakrah, who said: When that day arrived, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sat upon a camel, and a man took hold of its halter or its nose-rein. He said: "What day is this day of yours?" He said: So we remained silent until we thought he would name it by a name other than its name. He said: "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr)?" We said: "Yes." He said: "And what month is this month of yours?" He said: So we remained silent until we thought he would name it by a name other than its name. He said: "Is it not Dhu al-Hijjah?" We said: "Yes." He said: "And what land is this land of yours?" He said: So we remained silent until we thought he would name it by a name other than its name. He said: "Is it not the Sacred City (al-Baldah)?" We said: "Yes." He said: "Indeed, your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred among you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Let the one who is present inform the one who is absent, for perhaps the one who is present may convey it to one who is more retentive of it than he is." Muhammad said: A man said: "That has indeed happened."
