Musnad Ahmad 830:35

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Qurrah narrated to us, Muhammad—meaning Ibn Sirin—narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, and from another man—who is in my soul better than 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah—from Abu Bakrah. 'Abdullah said: Someone other than my father said regarding Yahya in this hadith: "Better in my soul is Humayd ibn 'Abd al-Rahman." That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, addressed the people at Mina and said: "Do you not know what day this is?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, and he remained silent until we thought he would name it by a name other than its name. Then he said: "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?" We said: "Yes." He said: "What land is this?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Is it not the Sacred City?" We said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Indeed, your blood, your wealth, your honor, and your skins are sacred, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Have I not conveyed?" We said: "Yes." He said: "O Allah, bear witness. Let the witness convey to the absent, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed will be more mindful of it than the one who heard it." And it was so. And he said: "Do not return after me as disbelievers, striking the necks of one another." When the day of the burning of Ibn al-Hadrami came, and Jariyah ibn Qudamah burned him, he said: "Look out for Abu Bakrah." They said: "This is Abu Bakrah." 'Abd al-Rahman said: "My mother narrated to me that Abu Bakrah said: 'If they had entered upon me, I would not have struck at them with a reed.'"
