Musnad Ahmad 830:51

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abi Ya‘qub al-Dabbi, who said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah narrating from his father, that al-Aqra‘ ibn Habis came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "The ones who pledged allegiance to you are the thieves of the pilgrims from Aslam, Ghifar, and Muzaynah—and I think [he also mentioned] Juhaynah." Muhammad [the narrator] is the one who expressed doubt. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "What do you think if Aslam, Ghifar, and Muzaynah—and I think Juhaynah—were better than Banu Tamim, Banu ‘Amir, Asad, and Ghatafan; would they have failed and lost?" He said: "Yes." He said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, they are indeed better than them; they are indeed better than them."
