Musnad Ahmad 830:57

Abu al-Nadr and ‘Affan narrated to us, they said: al-Mubarak narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Abu Bakrah. ‘Affan said in his narration: al-Mubarak narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Hasan saying: Abu Bakrah informed me, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came upon some people who were passing a drawn sword among themselves. He said: "May Allah curse the one who did this. Have I not forbidden this?" Then he said: "If one of you draws his sword and looks at it, and then wishes to hand it to his brother, let him sheath it, then hand it to him."
