Musnad Ahmad 830:80

Hawdha ibn Khalifah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn ‘Awn narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, from Abu Bakrah, who said: When that day came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mounted his she-camel, then he stood and said: "Do you know what day this is?" He mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Ibn Abi ‘Adi, and he said in it: "Let the one who is present convey to the one who is absent," twice, "for perhaps the one to whom information is conveyed will be more retentive than the one who heard it." Then he leaned on his she-camel toward some small sheep and began to distribute them between two men, one sheep, and [between] three, one sheep.
