Musnad Ahmad 789:16

Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Kinanah ibn Nu'aym al-'Adawi, from Abu Barzah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was on a military expedition of his. When he finished the fighting, he said: "Do you miss anyone?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we miss such-and-such and such-and-such." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "But I miss Julaybib, so search for him." They searched for him and found him beside seven [men] whom he had killed, then they killed him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and stood over him and said: "He killed seven, then they killed him. This [man] is of me and I am of him. He killed seven, and they killed him. This [man] is of me and I am of him." Then he was lifted to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he placed him on his forearm. He had no bed [bier] except the forearm of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) until he buried him, and he did not mention washing [him].
