Hadith of Abu Barzah al-Aslami (RA)
Hadith 789:23
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Barzah al-Aslami, who said: I went out one day walking, and suddenly I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, heading [somewhere]. I thought he wanted [to attend to] a need, so I began to lag behind him and move to the side. He saw me and gestured to me, so I came to him. He took my hand, and we set off walking together. Suddenly, we were with a man praying, increasing in bowing and prostration. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Do you see him as showing off?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He released my hand, then he joined his palms together, then he began to raise them level with his shoulders and place them down, and he said: "Upon you is a moderate guidance," three times. "For whoever overburdens the religion, it will overcome him." Yazid said in Baghdad: "Buraydah al-Aslami." He had previously said: "From Abu Barzah," then he returned to [saying] "Buraydah." Waki' and Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, both saying: "Buraydah al-Aslami."
