Hadith of Abu Basrah al-Ghifari (RA)
Hadith 1237:1
Yunus narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, from Abu Hani al-Khawlani, from a man whom he named, from Abu Basrah al-Ghifari, a companion of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "I asked my Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, for four things, so He granted me three and withheld one from me. I asked Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, that He not unite my nation upon misguidance, and He granted it to me. I asked Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, that He not let an enemy from other than them overcome them, and He granted it to me. I asked Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, that He not destroy them by years of famine as He destroyed the nations before them, and He granted it to me. And I asked Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, that He not clothe them in sects and make some of them taste the might of others, and He withheld it from me."
