Musnad Ahmad 1113:0

Narrated to us by Yahya ibn Sa’id, from Shu’bah, who said: Narrated to us Abu Ishaq, from Abu Burdah al-Zafari, from his father, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The likeness of the believer who recites the Qur’an is like the citron (utrujjah); its scent is pleasant and its taste is pleasant. And the likeness of the believer who does not recite the Qur’an is like the date; it has no scent, but its taste is sweet. And the likeness of the hypocrite who recites the Qur’an is like the basil (rayhanah); its scent is pleasant, but its taste is bitter. And the likeness of the hypocrite who does not recite the Qur’an is like the colocynth (hanthalah); it has no scent, and its taste is bitter."
