Hadith 940:19
Waki’ narrated to us, Zaidah ibn Qudamah narrated to me, al-Sa’ib ibn Hubaysh al-Kala’i narrated to me, from Ma’dan ibn Abi Talhah al-Ya’mari, who said: Abu al-Darda’ said to me: "Where is your dwelling?" I said: "In a village below Homs." He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'There are no three people in a village among whom the call to prayer is not made and the prayer is not established, except that the devil has gained mastery over them. So adhere to the congregation, for the wolf eats the stray sheep.'"
حدثنا وكيع، حدثني زائدة بن قدامة، حدثني السائب بن حبيش الكلاعي، عن معدان بن أبي طلحة اليعمري، قال: قال لي أبو الدرداء: أين مسكنك؟ قال: قلت: في قرية دون حمص، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " ما من ثلاثة في قرية لا يؤذن ولا تقام فيهم الصلاة إلا استحوذ عليهم الشيطان، فعليك بالجماعة، فإن الذئب يأكل القاصية "
