Hadith 940:27
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, who said: I heard Abu Ishaq narrating that he heard Abu Habibah say: A man bequeathed some dinars in the way of Allah. Abu al-Darda’ was asked about it, so he narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that he said: "The likeness of the one who frees a slave or gives charity at the time of his death is like the one who gives a gift after he has become full." Abu Habibah said: "Something of that troubled me."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، عن عطاء بن السائب قال: سمعت أبا إسحاق، يحدث أنه سمع أبا حبيبة، قال: أوصى رجل بدنانير في سبيل الله، فسئل أبو الدرداء، فحدث عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: " مثل الذي يعتق، أو يتصدق، عند موته، مثل الذي يهدي بعدما يشبع " قال أبو حبيبة: " فأصابني من ذلك شيء "
