Musnad Ahmad 937:126

'Affan narrated to us, Salam Abu al-Mundhir narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Wasi', from 'Abdullah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: My beloved (peace be upon him) commanded me with seven things: He commanded me to love the poor and to draw near to them. He commanded me to look at those who are below me and not to look at those who are above me. He commanded me to maintain ties of kinship even if they turn away. He commanded me not to ask anyone for anything. He commanded me to speak the truth even if it is bitter. He commanded me not to fear the blame of any critic for the sake of Allah. And he commanded me to say frequently: "There is no power and no strength except by Allah" (La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah), for indeed, they are from a treasure beneath the Throne.
