Musnad Ahmad 937:169

Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Amr narrated to us, from ‘Arak ibn Malik, who said: Abu Dharr said: "I am the closest of you to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the Day of Resurrection. I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'Indeed, the closest of you to me on the Day of Resurrection is the one who departed from the world in the same state as he was when I left him.'" And by Allah, there is not one among you except that he has clung to something of it, except for me.
