Musnad Ahmad 937:251

Ibn Numayr and Muhammad ibn ‘Ubayd narrated to us, they said: Al-A‘mash narrated to us, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, who said: Abu Dharr said: While I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in the mosque when the sun had set, he said: "O Abu Dharr, do you know where the sun goes?" I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: "It goes until it prostrates before its Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, then it asks for permission, and it is permitted. It is as if it has been told: 'Return from where you came,' so it rises from its place, and that is its resting place." Muhammad said: Then he recited: {And the sun runs to a resting place for it} [Ya-Sin: 38].
