Hadith of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (RA)
Hadith 937:264
Yazid narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Artah informed us, from Abd al-Malik ibn al-Mughirah al-Ta’ifi, from Abdullah ibn al-Miqdam, from Ibn Shaddad, from Abu Dharr, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, on a journey. A man came to him and said: "The other one has committed adultery." He turned away from him. Then he repeated it a third time, then a fourth time. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, descended—and he said once: "He confessed the adultery to him"—and he repeated it four times. Then he descended, and he commanded us, so we dug a pit for him that was not long, and he was stoned. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, departed, sorrowful and sad. We traveled until he stopped at a place, and the distress was lifted from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said to me: "O Abu Dharr, did you not see your companion? He has been forgiven and admitted into Paradise."
