Yunus narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Muhammad—meaning Ibn ‘Ajlan—from Sa‘id ibn Abi Sa‘id, from his father, from ‘Abdullah ibn Wadi‘ah al-Khudri, from Abu Dharr, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "Whoever performs ghusl on Friday and perfects the ghusl, then puts on his best clothes, then touches whatever oil or perfume he has in his house that is prescribed, then does not separate between two people, Allah will forgive him what is between that and the next Friday." Muhammad said: "I mentioned this to ‘Ubadah ibn ‘Amir ibn ‘Amr ibn Hazm, and he said: 'He spoke the truth, and an addition of three days.'" *** Harun ibn Ma‘ruf narrated to us—‘Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: "And I heard it myself from Harun"—and Ibn Wahb narrated to us, ‘Amr informed me, from al-Harith ibn Ya‘qub, from Abu al-Aswad al-Ghifari, from al-Nu‘man al-Ghifari, from Abu Dharr, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that he said: "O Abu Dharr, comprehend what I say to you: A female goat that comes to a man among the Muslims is better for him than Uhud of gold that he leaves behind him." "O Abu Dharr, comprehend what I say to you: Indeed, those who have much wealth are the ones who will have little on the Day of Resurrection, except for the one who says such and such." "Comprehend, O Abu Dharr, what I say to you: Indeed, in the forelocks of horses is goodness until the Day of Resurrection," or "Indeed, in the forelocks of horses is goodness."
