Musnad Ahmad 937:94

'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Sulayman al-A'mash, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, who said: I used to recite to him and he would recite to me in the street. He would pass by a prostration [verse] and prostrate. He said: I said, "Do you prostrate in the street?" He said, "Yes, I heard Abu Dharr saying: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which mosque was placed on the earth first?' He said: 'The Sacred Mosque (al-Masjid al-Haram).'" He said: I said, "Then which?" He said: "Then the Furthest Mosque (al-Masjid al-Aqsa)." He said: I said, "How much was between them?" He said: "Forty years." He said: "Then wherever the prayer overtakes you, pray, for it is a mosque." And Abu 'Awanah said: "I used to read to him and he would read to me."
