Rawh narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, who said: I heard Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, who said: I heard Abu Kabshah al-Anmari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The likeness of my nation is the likeness of four," and he mentioned the hadith. 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Mu'awiyah—meaning Ibn Salih—from Azhar ibn Sa'id al-Harrazi, who said: I heard Abu Kabshah al-Anmari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting among his companions, then he entered, and then he came out having performed ghusl (ritual bath). We said: "O Messenger of Allah, has something happened?" He said: "Yes, such-and-such woman passed by me, and the desire for women fell into my heart, so I went to one of my wives and had intercourse with her. So do likewise, for indeed, among your best deeds is approaching the lawful."
