Hadith of Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (RA)

Hadith 1015:1

'Affan narrated to us, Aban al-'Attar narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam, from Abu Malik al-Ash'ari, that he gathered his companions and said: "Come, I will pray the prayer of the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." He said—and he was a man from the Ash'aris—: "He called for a large bowl of water, and he washed his hands three times, rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose, and washed his face three times and his forearms three times, and wiped his head and his ears, and washed his feet." He said: "Then he prayed the Dhuhr prayer, and he recited in it the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatiha), and he said twenty-two takbirs."
