Musnad Ahmad 1013:53

I read to Abd al-Rahman, from Malik, and Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us, from Abu Hazim, from Sahl ibn Sa'd, that a woman came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of God, I have gifted myself to you." She stood for a long time. A man stood up and said: "O Messenger of God, marry her to me if you have no need of her." The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do you have anything to give her as a dowry?" He said: "I have nothing except this lower garment of mine." The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "If you give her your lower garment, you will sit with no lower garment for yourself, so seek something." He said: "I do not find anything." He said: "Seek, even if it is a ring of iron." He sought, but did not find anything. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: "Do you have any of the Quran with you?" He said: "Yes, such-and-such surah and such-and-such surah," naming the surahs. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: "I have married her to you for what you have of the Quran."
