Hadith of Abu Malik Sahl bin Sa'd al-Sa'idi (RA)
Hadith 1013:72
Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Ghasil narrated to us, from Hamza ibn Abi Usayd, from his father, and Abbas ibn Sahl, from his father, they both said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed by us along with some of his companions. We went out with him until we set off toward a garden called al-Shawt. When we reached two gardens, we sat between them. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Sit." He entered, and the al-Jawniyya—Umama bint al-Nu'man ibn Sharahil—was brought and secluded in a house among the palm trees, and with her was her nursemaid. When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered upon her, he said: "Grant yourself to me." She said: "Does a queen grant herself to a commoner?" (Other than Abu Ahmad, it is said: A woman from Banu al-Jawn called Amina). She said: "I seek refuge in Allah from you." He said: "You have sought refuge in a refuge." Then he came out to us and said: "O Abu Usayd, clothe her with two linen garments and send her back to her family."
