Hadith 457:21
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Shaqiq, from Abu Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A man from those who were before you was brought to account, and no good was found for him, except that he was a wealthy man, and he used to mix with the people, and he used to say to his servants: 'Overlook the one in difficulty.'" He said: "So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said to His angels: 'We are more entitled to that than him; overlook him.'"
حدثنا أبو معاوية، حدثنا الأعمش، عن شقيق، عن أبي مسعود، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " حوسب رجل ممن كان قبلكم فلم يوجد له من الخير شيء، إلا أنه كان رجلا موسرا، وكان يخالط الناس، فكان يقول لغلمانه، تجاوزوا عن المعسر ". قال: " فقال الله عز وجل لملائكته: نحن أحق بذلك منه، تجاوزوا عنه "
