Musnad Ahmad 457:7

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Habib—meaning Ibn Abi Thabit—from ‘Ubaydullah ibn al-Qasim or al-Qasim ibn ‘Ubaydullah ibn ‘Utbah, from Abu Mas‘ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) delivered a sermon to us and said: "Indeed, this matter is among you, and you are its guardians. It will not cease to be among you until you commit deeds. When you do that, Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He) will send upon you the worst of His creation, and he will strip you as a rod is stripped."
