Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (RA)

Hadith 788:114

Mus'ab ibn Salam narrated to us, Al-Ajalih narrated to us, from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me to Yemen. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, there are drinks there, so what should I drink? And what should I leave?" He said: "And what are they?" I said: "Al-Bit' and Al-Mizr." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not know what they were, so he said: "What is Al-Bit'? And what is Al-Mizr?" He said: "As for Al-Bit', it is a fermented drink of corn that is cooked until it becomes Bit'. And as for Al-Mizr, it is a fermented drink of honey." He said: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not drink anything that intoxicates."

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
