Musnad Ahmad 788:119

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn Abi Burdah, from Abi Burdah, from his father, that two men disputed before the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding an animal, and neither of them had evidence. So he divided it between them into two halves.
