Musnad Ahmad 788:12

Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Shaqiq, from Abu Musa, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the man said: A man loves a people but has not yet joined them. He said: "A person is with whom he loves."
