Abu al-Nadr and Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, they said: al-Mas'udi informed us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, named himself names for us, some of which we memorized. He said: "I am Muhammad, and Ahmad, and al-Muqaffi (the Successor), and al-Hashir (the Gatherer), and the Prophet of Repentance, and the Prophet of Epic Battles."
