'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jud'an informed us, from 'Amarah al-Qurashi, who said: We traveled to 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, and among us was Abu Burdah. He fulfilled our needs. When Abu Burdah left, he returned, and 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz said: "Mention the elder." He said: "What brought you back? Did I not fulfill your needs?" He said: Abu Burdah said: "Only a hadith that my father narrated to me from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: 'Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, will gather the nations on the Day of Resurrection'—and he mentioned the hadith." He said: 'Umar said to Abu Burdah: "By Allah, did you hear Abu Musa narrating it from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" He said: "Yes, I heard it from my father narrating it from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
