Musnad Ahmad 788:178

He said: And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Indeed, before you are tribulations like pieces of a dark night. A man will wake up in them a believer and reach the evening a disbeliever, and he will reach the evening a believer and wake up a disbeliever. The one sitting during them is better than the one standing, and the one standing during them is better than the one walking, and the one walking during them is better than the one running." They said: "So what do you command us?" He said: "Be like the mats of your houses."
