Musnad Ahmad 788:5

'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Husayn narrated to us, from Ibn Buraydah, he said: It was narrated to me from al-Ash'ari that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: "O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for what I have sent forth and what I have delayed, and what I have kept secret and what I have made public. You are the One who brings forward, and You are the One who delays, and You are over all things competent."
