Hadith of Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (RA)

حديث أبي قتادة الأنصاري

Hadith 1007:108

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Sa‘d ibn Ibrahim, who said: I heard a man—and Sa‘d said: It used to be said that he was the freed slave of Abu Qatadah, though he was not a freed slave—narrating from Abu Qatadah that: He caught a wild donkey, and they asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was in the state of ihram. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Does any of it remain with you?" Shu‘bah said: Then I asked him afterward, and he said: "Does any of it remain with you?" He said: So he ate it, or he said: "So eat it." I said to Shu‘bah: "The meaning of his statement is that there is no harm in it." He said: "Yes."
