Hadith of Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (RA)

Hadith 1007:76

Narrated to us ‘Abd al-Razzaq, narrated to us ‘Abd Allah ibn Sa‘id ibn Abi Hind, narrated to me Muhammad ibn ‘Amr ibn Halhalah al-Du’ali, from Ibn Ka‘b ibn Malik, from Abu Qatadah, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, one day, and a funeral passed by him. He said: "One who is at rest and one from whom others are at rest." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is 'one who is at rest' and 'one from whom others are at rest'?" He said: "The righteous servant finds rest from the toil of the world and its worries, unto the mercy of Allah. And the wicked servant—the servants, the lands, the trees, and the beasts find rest from him."
