Hadith of Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (RA)
Hadith 1007:87
Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us, Abd al-Aziz ibn Rufay’ narrated to me, from Ibn Abi Qatadah, from Abu Qatadah, who said: I was with a group of the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they were in the state of ihram, except for one man. He caught sight of game, so he took a whip and charged at it, and he hunted it. He ate from it, and we ate, and then we took some of it as provisions. When we came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, we said: "O Messenger of God, such-and-such person was not in the state of ihram, or he was a halal (non-pilgrim), and he caught game, and he ate from it, and we ate with him, and we have some of it with us." He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to them: "Eat."
