Hadith of Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (RA)
Hadith 1007:96
Husayn narrated to us, Ibn Abi Dhi’b narrated to us, from Salih—meaning Ibn Abi Hassan—from Abdullah ibn Abi Qatadah, from his father, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent him in a vanguard before Gha’iqah and Waddan, and he was in a state of Ihram, while Abu Qatadah was not in a state of Ihram. Then there was a wild donkey, so he asked them for a whip, but they did not give it to him. So he snatched the whip of one of them and hunted a wild donkey, and they ate it. Then they caught up with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at al-Abwa’. They said, "We have done something, and we do not know what it is." He said, "Feed us."
