Hadith 1228:17
Zakariya ibn 'Adi narrated to us, he said: 'Ubayd Allah—meaning Ibn 'Amr—informed me, from 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, he said: So I asked 'Ali ibn al-Husayn, and he narrated to me, from Abu Rafi', the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), that when al-Hasan ibn 'Ali was born, his mother, Fatimah, wanted to sacrifice two rams for him. He said: "Do not sacrifice for him, but shave the hair of his head, then give in charity the weight of it in silver in the way of Allah." Then al-Husayn was born after that, and she did the same.
حدثنا زكريا بن عدي، قال: أخبرني عبيد الله يعني ابن عمرو، عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل قال: فسألت علي بن الحسين فحدثني، عن أبي رافع مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، أن الحسن بن علي لما ولد أرادت أمه فاطمة أن تعق عنه بكبشين، فقال: " لا تعقي عنه، ولكن احلقي شعر رأسه، ثم تصدقي بوزنه من الورق في سبيل الله "، ثم ولد حسين بعد ذلك فصنعت مثل ذلك
