Hadith 1111:18
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far and Bahz narrated to us, they said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Ibn Abi Rafi‘, from Abu Rafi‘, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent a man from Banu Makhzum to collect the charity (Zakat). He said to Abu Rafi‘: "Accompany me so that you may obtain some of it." He said: "No, until I come to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and ask him." So he went to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and asked him. He said: "The charity is not lawful for us, and the freed slave of a people is from among themselves."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، وبهز، قالا: حدثنا شعبة، عن الحكم، عن ابن أبي رافع، عن أبي رافع، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بعث رجلا من بني مخزوم على الصدقة، فقال لأبي رافع: اصحبني كيما تصيب منها قال: لا حتى آتي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأسأله، فانطلق إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فسأله فقال: " الصدقة لا تحل لنا وإن مولى القوم من أنفسهم "
