Hadith 1111:3
'Abd al-Jabbar ibn Muhammad al-Khattabi narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn al-Harith, that Bukayr ibn 'Abdullah narrated to him, from al-Hasan ibn 'Ali ibn Abi Rafi', from his father, from his grandfather Abu Rafi', who said: Quraysh sent me to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: When I saw the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, Islam fell into my heart. I said: O Messenger of Allah, I will not return to them. He said: "I do not break the covenant, nor do I detain the messengers. Return to them; if what is in your heart is what is in it now, then return [later]." Bukayr said: And al-Hasan informed me that Abu Rafi' was a Copt.
حدثنا عبد الجبار بن محمد الخطابي، حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب، عن عمرو بن الحارث، أن بكير بن عبد الله، حدثه عن الحسن بن علي بن أبي رافع، عن أبيه، عن جده أبي رافع، قال: بعثتني قريش إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: فلما رأيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وقع في قلبي الإسلام، فقلت: يا رسول الله لا أرجع إليهم، قال: " إني لا أخيس بالعهد، ولا أحبس البرد ، ارجع إليهم، فإن كان في قلبك الذي فيه الآن، فارجع " قال بكير: وأخبرني الحسن: " أن أبا رافع كان قبطيا "
