Hadith 1111:9
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Hakam ibn 'Utaybah, from Ibn Abi Rafi', from Abu Rafi', who said: Al-Arqam al-Zuhri, or Ibn Abi al-Arqam, passed by me, and he had been appointed over the alms (sadaqat). He said: So he asked me to follow him. He said: So I came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I asked him about that. He said: "O Abu Rafi', indeed the alms are forbidden for Muhammad and for the family of Muhammad; indeed, the freed slave of a people is from among themselves."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا سفيان، عن ابن أبي ليلى، عن الحكم بن عتيبة، عن ابن أبي رافع، عن أبي رافع قال: مر علي الأرقم الزهري، أو ابن أبي الأرقم، واستعمل على الصدقات، قال: فاستتبعني، قال: فأتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فسألته عن ذلك، فقال: " يا أبا رافع، إن الصدقة حرام على محمد وعلى آل محمد، إن مولى القوم من أنفسهم "
