Abu Shurayh al-Khuza'i reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "O people, do not make the sanctuary (Haram) of Makkah a place of fear. It is not permissible for anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day to shed blood in it, nor to cut down a tree in it. If anyone seeks a concession due to the fighting of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), then say to him: 'Allah permitted it to His Messenger, but He did not permit it to you.' It was only permitted to me for an hour of the day, and today its sanctity has returned as it was yesterday. Let those who are present convey it to those who are absent."
