Musnad Ahmad 307:1

Al-Hajjaj ibn Muhammad and Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, they said: Layth—meaning Ibn Sa’d—narrated to us, he said: Bukayr—meaning Ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Ashajj—narrated to me, from Busr ibn Sa’id, from Zayd ibn Khalid, from Abu Talhah, the companion of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is an image." Busr said: Then he became ill, so we visited him, and behold, upon his door was a curtain in which there was an image. I said to ‘Ubayd Allah al-Khawlani, the stepson of Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: Did he not inform us and mention the images on the first day? ‘Ubayd Allah said: Did you not hear him say: "Except for a pattern on a garment"? Hashim said: Did Zayd not inform us about the images on the first day? ‘Ubayd Allah said: Did you not hear him when he said: "Except for a pattern on a garment?" And likewise said Yunus. *** Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, Hajjaj and Ibn Abi Za’idah narrated to us, they said: Hajjaj informed us, from al-Hasan ibn Sa’d, from Ibn ‘Abbas, he said: Abu Talhah informed me—Yahya said in his hadith: Abu Talhah informed me—that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, combined the Hajj and the ‘Umrah. *** ‘Abd al-Razzaq said: Ma’mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, he said: ‘Ubayd Allah ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Utbah informed me that he heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: I heard Abu Talhah say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image of statues."
