Musnad Ahmad 538:14

Hammad ibn Khalid narrated to us, Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from his father, from Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you shoot your arrow and it disappears for three nights, then you find it, eat [the game] as long as it has not become putrid."
