Abu Nuh Qarrad narrated to us, he said: Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman said: I heard my father more than once saying: Abu Nuh Qarrad narrated to us, ‘Ikrimah ibn ‘Ammar narrated to us, from Shaddad ibn ‘Abd Allah, he said: I heard Abu Umamah saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "O son of Adam, if you expend the surplus, it is better for you, and if you withhold it, it is worse for you. You are not blamed for what is sufficient, and begin with those whom you support. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand."
