Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, and Hajjaj said: Shu’bah narrated to me, from Mansur, who said: I heard Salim say: Hajjaj said, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja’d, who said: Ibn Ja’far said: I heard Salim ibn Abi al-Ja’d say: It was mentioned to me from Abu Umamah that a woman came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, asking him, and she had two young sons with her. He gave her three dates, so she gave each one of them a date. He said: Then one of the two boys cried. He said: So she split it and gave each one of them a half. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "They are pregnant, child-bearing, and merciful to their children. Were it not for what they do to their husbands, those among them who pray would enter Paradise."
