Abdullah narrated to us, Fatar bin Hammad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, he said: I heard Malik bin Dinar saying: People say: "Malik bin Dinar," meaning Malik bin Dinar is an ascetic. But the true ascetic is Umar bin Abdul Aziz, to whom the world came, and he abandoned it.
